Security Officer - TEB East
Maintain the physical security including: facilities, properties, employees and customers. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain a secure perimeter
- Perform inspections of the facilities and surrounding perimeter
- Check and record all vehicle and pedestrian entries to/from the facility
- Determine the authenticity and validity of all seeking facility access
- Control ramp access
- Assist with passengers and baggage
- Stay abreast of all local, national and world security concerns which might affect airport and/or company security
- Record and notify security supervisor of any and all abnormal occurrences/suspicious activities
- Maintain a professional - pressed and well-groomed appearance
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Monitor company video surveillance
- Provide escorts on the ramp as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Responsible for complying with and participating in OSHA training and program
- This position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- The ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations
- Flexibility to occasionally work other hours/shifts when needed. Must be available to work holidays and overtime when needed.
Certificates and Licenses:
- CPR (Recommended)
- First Aid and Defibrillator Certified preferred; otherwise, S.O.R.A. Certification required.
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors, including, without limitation, skill sets, education, shift worked, responsibilities, seniority, geographical market, merit, output, productivity, prior training or experience, and travel. The pay range for this position is $22.00 to $25.00 / hour.
