Security Operations Centre Analyst

About the role

The SOC Analyst will assist customers in eliminating possible interruption of service in their security environments. In so doing, you will provide monitoring response to alerts received from software tools into service/ helpdesk tools, ensuring that all incidents are recorded and resolved within customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Key responsibilities

  • Support Availability Management by ensuring all customer security devices are monitored in line with contracts and SLAs.
  • Managing events and alerts by responding to these identified via monitoring tools and categorise in line with established processes and policies.
  • Managing calls from customers in support of SOC functions.
  • Providing periodic reports as directed by Manager in support of analysis security event and capacity management functions.
  • Conducting technical security assessments and providing consultation with customers and colleagues, as required.

Key qualifications and experience

  • Associate Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a progressive IT services environment with specific focus on security technologies
  • Technical competence in three (3) or more of the following technologies: Endpoint protection, perimeter/ core/ web firewalls, Vulnerability Assessment, Operating System Hardening
  • Experience in using security monitoring tool set e.g. FortiAnalyzer, Checkpoint Smart Event, FortiSIEM, Azure Sentinel
  • AWS or Azure Security Certification will be considered an asset
