Security Sergeant - University Police

The Security Sergeant is responsible for the selection, training and supervision of Security Officers. They are also responsible for performance evaluations, planning reports, investigation reports and disciplines. Duties Responsibilities: Interviews, select and train new Security Officers. Assign work assignments and schedules for Security officers. Assist in developing training curriculum. Implements, disciplines and enforces policies and procedures for Security Officers. Dispatch calls using radio; pages staff; prepares visitor and/or parking passes; controls personnel access by monitoring the identification of individuals entering controlled areas. Interviews with witnesses, writes detailed narrative reports; maintains daily activity reports; records visitor’s names, confirms identity, issue passes, and escorts individuals within secured area. Unlocking gates and doors; may drive patrol car while making rounds. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
