SECURITY SPECIALIST
Summary
Remote Security Specialist responsible for monitoring systems for threats, implementing security controls across cloud environments, and supporting incident response, using SIEM tools (Splunk/Sentinel), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), IAM, and vulnerability management in collaboration with engineering and DevOps teams.
This is a remote position.
The Security Specialist is responsible for identifying security risks, implementing protective controls, monitoring systems for threats, and supporting incident response activities. The role works closely with engineering, DevOps, compliance, and cloud teams to ensure security is embedded across all layers of the technology stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor systems and infrastructure for security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation efforts.
- Implement and maintain security controls across applications and cloud environments.
- Support incident detection, response, and post-incident analysis.
- Assist in threat analysis, risk assessments, and security audits.
- Work with engineering teams to ensure secure application development practices.
- Support identity and access management (IAM) configurations and reviews.
- Assist in security compliance activities and regulatory alignment.
- Maintain security logs, reports, and documentation.
- Support penetration testing coordination and remediation tracking.
Required Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.
- Strong understanding of security principles, risk management, and threat analysis.
- Experience working in cloud or enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with incident response and vulnerability management processes.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
