Security Specialist
What You Will Work On Crisis24 is seeking a Security Operations Specialist, Global Operations, to support live operations, proactive threat monitoring, and emergency response activities conducted across our ‘Follow the Sun’ network of Global Operations Centres, with centres based in Annapolis, Bournemouth, London, Konstanz and Singapore
This includes coordinating and overseeing global operations involving emergency safety support, evacuations, security, and protection tasks in high-risk and challenging locations; proactively monitoring threats to client personnel and assets worldwide; and compiling threat information and mitigation advice
The role holder works a nine-hour, ‘Follow the Sun’ day-shift pattern to support continuous 24/7/365 operations
You must be responsible, diligent, and composed under pressure, with high-quality written and verbal communication skills Duties & Responsibilities
Travel Risk and Security Advice Support research into and assessment of the threat environment for proposed tasks or travel, using a range of privileged and open-source platforms and research networks
Prepare, compile, and distribute travel security advice and risk assessments before or during client travel to higher-risk locations
Support the research and delivery of pre-travel briefings and presentations to a range of travellers, including expatriates preparing to deploy, academics, NGO personnel, corporate travellers, and C-suite executives
Provide briefings on current threats and associated risks and recommend appropriate safety measures
Monitor and respond to global travel security requests from deployed personnel, in-country travellers, clients, and on-the-ground security teams
Provide travel security and emergency advice, mitigation measures, and recommendations to travellers, clients, and organisational points of contact
Support the coordination of ad hoc travel security, secure transport, and protection tasks Threat Monitoring and Intelligence Use open-source intelligence to proactively monitor the security situation in locations where client personnel and assets are located
Conduct regular checks to confirm the wellbeing of personnel
Use tracking platforms to monitor events and respond to notifications concerning personnel or assets at risk
Provide operational and tactical intelligence support, including location monitoring, information collation, and threat mapping, for live operations
Assist with research into and reviews of deteriorating security environments
Identify potential exit routes, transport hubs, relocation sites, and border crossings
Compile maps and supporting information to aid operational planning and preparation Incident, Crisis, and Emergency Response Support security response and contingency planning
Keep Operations Management informed of escalating situations
Initiate mass communications and confirm the welfare status of affected personnel
Respond to major security incidents by providing immediate support and advice
Help to ensure the safety of potentially affected personnel and assets
Produce situation reports to maintain client awareness
Support the coordination and communication of security, evacuation, crisis, and emergency response tasks
Provide operational support to emergency evacuations and live crisis and incident response operations
Respond to Special Risks calls relating to kidnap, ransom, and extortion, gathering key information and promptly escalating the matter internally to the relevant specialist department Tracking and Communications Systems Support the delivery of tracking solutions
Monitor and respond to system notifications and customer messages
Outside normal business hours, provide an initial response to activations and technical or operational issues
Maintain accurate records of communications, actions, and outcomes Reporting, Procedures, and Compliance Support the compilation of post-operational reports for internal purposes, including lessons identified and learned
Contribute to external reporting requirements, including marketing materials and case studies where appropriate
Document and log relevant information in historical archives
Follow and adhere to Crisis24 security, response, and client standard operating procedures
Comply with company policies, with particular emphasis on information security and data protection
Maintain a strong working knowledge of Crisis24 services
Develop and retain a detailed understanding of Security Department services, procedures, systems, and client and partner relationships Team Support and Service Improvement Provide day-to-day support and guidance to new frontline staff and Security Operations Specialists
Help to ensure consistency, competence, and efficiency in security-related response handling and operational tasks
Support the training, coaching, and mentoring of new starters
Participate in Global Operations Centre drills and exercises
Strive to deliver the highest standards of service to clients
Identify and contribute recommendations to improve performance, processes, and service delivery
Undertake ad hoc travel security, safety, and operational tasks, duties, and support activities as required by the Security Operations Manager Who You Will Work With The successful candidate will work as part of a team of Security Operations Specialists within our Global Operations Centres. The role requires close collaboration between team members to deliver operational tasks effectively
Security Operations Specialists work closely with the Security Operations Management team, which provides support, direction, and instruction
During complex operations, Security Operations Specialists work alongside Operations Management to plan, manage, and deliver operational support to clients
As part of a global team, you will regularly collaborate with Crisis24 colleagues in different locations to support the delivery of services to internal and external clients
Working hours consist of nine-hour shifts, typically following a pattern of five or six working days followed by two or three days off What You Will Bring Direct experience in emergency or crisis response, the military, an operations centre, or another high-tempo environment requiring effective communication skills is desirable
Additional verbal and written language skills are an advantage
Effective presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief personnel in distress, internal and external stakeholders, and senior business leaders
