Security Specialist

About the Position: This position is with the AD Director of Staff (AD DS) J-3/5/7 Operations (J-3) J-34 Protection. This position is located in San Antonio, TX. Leave accrual negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Relocation incentive may be authorized.

Plan, direct, and control the allocation and utilization of all authorized funding and personnel resources for execution of the Headquarters security and threat management mission.

Develop a comprehensive time-phased and cost-effective program designed to meet mission and program requirements

Advise all security capabilities to accomplish objectives as set forth, indicating areas requiring assistance or revision and de-conflicts competing priorities to align with the Director's priorities.

Develop and maintain close liaison and coordination with these agencies/organizations to ensure prompt and effective communications involving time sensitive matters.

Serve as the senior advisor to Headquarters on all security and threat management matters for the organization.

Assess threats to Headquarters personnel, beneficiaries, and facilities, and presents mitigation strategies to senior civilian and military officials, consistent with DoD policy, that reduces threats to an acceptable level or eliminates completely.

Recommend organizational structure and staffing needs.

Provide advice and counsel to employees relative to work and administrative matters.
