The Security Specialist administers the Special Access Program (SAP) Personnel Security Program for the U.S. European Command, ensuring policy compliance and managing security records. The role involves analyzing security inconsistencies, conducting inspections, and reporting adverse information to the Special Security Office.

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located with Headquarters U.S. European Command J3 Operations Directorate in Stuttgart, Germany.

Administers the Special Access Program (SAP) Personnel Security Program ensuring compliance with security and SAP policies.

Notifies the USEUCOM Special Security Office (SSO) of potentially unreported adverse information on a SAP-briefed individual that may impact clearance determinations.

Uses professional judgement in identifying, analyzing, evaluating, and recommending solutions for inconsistencies across the organization’s complex SAP security environment.

Participates in SAP security reviews and inspections of USEUCOM and Component activities.

Maintains personnel security profiles and records within EUCOM Information System for Security (EISS) for personnel to include badge accesses for facility entry, DEROS, and tour extensions.
