SECURITY SPECIALIST (SCI)
Summary
The Security Specialist manages a comprehensive security program for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) at the Defense Information Systems Agency. Responsibilities include designing security systems, conducting vulnerability assessments, and overseeing personnel security screenings and training.
This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA Security Management Division.
Manages a multi-faceted security program including physical, personnel, information, industrial, and IT security for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
Designs, develops, and manages security systems, alarms, and protective measures for the organization's SCI facilities and programs, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Conducts continuous inspections, evaluations, and vulnerability assessments of security measures, implementing corrective actions and countermeasures to mitigate risks.
Provides security training and briefings for all personnel on SCI matters and conducts indoctrination and debriefing sessions for access to special programs.
Manages the organization's SCI Personnel Security Program, including processing access requests, conducting screenings, and performing continuous evaluations of personnel.
