Security Specialist

Summary

Oversees security programs to protect classified information, manage personnel security clearances, and ensure compliance with DoD and Army regulations at NETCOM headquarters.

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at NETCOM Headquarters ACofS G-2 at Fort Huachuca, AZ.

Oversees the INFOSEC Program for Headquarters, NETCOM, ensuring the protection of classified information across the headquarters staff.

Provides guidance and advice to staff regarding the classification process, proper storage and transportation requirements.

Keeps current on changes in Army PERSEC changes and ensures subcommands are informed.

Manages day-to-day PERSEC requirements, including initiation of background investigations, account facilitation, and reporting adverse information

Responsible for administration of multiple security programs for Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM), Assistant Chief of Staff, G2.

Oversees the safeguarding and storage of sensitive classified SCI/national security information.

Interprets and implements security regulations involved in development, staffing, publication and interpretation of security programs, regulations covering operations in INFOSEC, INDUSEC, PERSEC, Foreign Disclosure and SCI Program Management.
