Security Supervisor
What you do daily:
- Lead and supervise on-site security guards and ensure 24/7 coverage
- Monitoring of physical access points, camera/access control systems, and alarms associated with all systems including, VMS, ACS, BMS, and the FACP
- Enforce all access control procedures for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors
- Review and verify the patrol documentation completed during each shift
- Verify badges, credentials, and visitor authorizations are accurate and updated upon approval
- Create new access badges and access level changes within the system upon approval
- Assist with incoming/outgoing deliveries, including customer package documentation
- Function as first responder and escalation point for security incidents, alarms, or emergencies
- Investigate incidents, document findings, and prepare detailed incident reports
- Coordinate with data center operations, management, and emergency services as needed
- Ensure proper response to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and security breaches
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to security guards
- Ensure staff adherence to post orders, policies, and Cologix standard operating procedures
- Report performance issues or policy violations to management
- Maintain compliance with data center security standards (SOC, ISO, customer requirements)
- Support customer security requests, audits, and access needs in a professional manner
- Maintain accurate security logs, access records, and documentation
- Promote a culture of professionalism, vigilance, and customer service
- Assist with the overall cleanliness of the facility and campus (cleaning/snow removal, etc.)
What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)
- Minimum 2–5 years of security experience, preferably in a critical infrastructure environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
- Basic computer skills (incident reporting, access systems, email)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and NetSuite
- Experience with access control systems and video management systems
- Security certifications (CPR/First Aid, Guard Card, Security Supervisor certification)
- Familiarity with compliance standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.)
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- 24/7 environment; must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
