Position Overview:

The Security Supervisor at Sonesta Maho Beach Resort and Casino is a key member of the security team responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests and staff. This position reports directly to the Security Manager and plays a vital role in upholding resort policies and procedures while delivering excellent guest service. The ideal candidate must possess exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, have a keen eye for detail, and excel in guest interactions.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Security Oversight: Supervise the day-to-day security operations of the resort, ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, and property assets.
  2. Guest Relations: Exhibit exceptional guest service skills by being approachable, friendly, and responsive to guest inquiries and concerns.
  3. Policy and Procedure Adherence: Enforce Resort policies and procedures diligently and consistently. Stay up-to-date with Resort policies and communicate any updates or changes to the security team.
  4. Shift Management: Effectively manage security staff during assigned shifts, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and support as needed.
  5. Incident Response: Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and guest complaints. Document incidents thoroughly and follow the established reporting procedures.
  6. Training and Development: Assist in the training and development of security personnel, ensuring that team members are well-informed about resort policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
  7. Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of the resort premises, including guest areas, parking lots, and other designated areas. Monitor access systems and report any suspicious activities.
  8. Conflict Resolution: Mediate and resolve conflicts or disputes among guests or staff in a professional and diplomatic manner.
  9. Reporting: Maintain accurate records of security-related activities, including incident reports, shift logs, and maintenance issues.
  10. Emergency Response: Act decisively during emergencies, including but not limited to fire alarms, medical incidents, and natural disasters, following established protocols.
  11. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all security equipment, such as radios, security equipment and access control systems, is in good working condition. Report any issues promptly for maintenance.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional education in security management is a plus).
  • Previous experience in security or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of resort policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weights.
  • Valid security license or certifications (if required by local regulations).
  • First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).


Working Conditions:

  • This position requires working 8 hours per day, 6 days per week, with a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • The role involves standing and walking for extended periods and exposure to various weather conditions.
