The Security Systems Operator is a versatile role within the Event Control command center responsible for both dispatching and security camera operations. This individual plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of event operations, maintaining vigilant surveillance, and coordinating efficient responses to incidents.
Responsibilities:
Dispatching:
- Monitor incoming incident reports via radio, telephone, feedback platform, and other requests for assistance.
- Respond appropriately to guest and staff messages sent in through feedback platform and via radio or telephone.
- Dispatch appropriate personnel and resources to incidents promptly.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and organized incident logs.
- Track the status and resolution of incidents, ensuring timely updates.
- Escalate critical issues to the Event Control Lead or Manager on Duty as required.
Security Systems Operations:
- Monitor live camera feeds to detect and report safety concerns, guest behaviors, and suspicious activity.
- Adjust camera angles and positions for optimal surveillance coverage.
- Record, bookmark, and archive significant events and incidents for future reference.
- Assist in identifying locations and movements of potential threats during emergencies.
General Event Control Duties:
- Ensure all security and communication equipment is operational.
- Monitor weather, traffic, local news, and other feeds crucial to the event’s success and building safety.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency procedures and protocols.
- Maintain professional radio etiquette.
- Familiarize themselves with building layout, all departments, and guest policies.
- Possess strong situational awareness and decision-making skills.
- Anticipate guest needs and prevent escalation of issues.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in security, dispatching, or related role preferred.
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Ability to read and write clearly and legibly to draft clear, thorough incident reports.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.
