Description

Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak is seeking an energetic, organized, and community-minded Seminar and Communications Manager to lead marketing, seminar, communications, and relationship-building efforts for our growing Altoona office. This highly visible role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with people, turning strategy into action, and creating opportunities for the firm to serve older adults, people with disabilities, families, caregivers, and community professionals.

Position Overview

As the firm’s boots-on-the-ground marketing presence in the Altoona region, you will build community partnerships, expand referral relationships, coordinate educational programs, and strengthen local awareness of the firm. You will combine strategic planning with hands-on execution, representing the firm in the community while ensuring seminars, events, and communications are organized, polished, and followed through from beginning to end.

This is an in-office position with occasional travel to support State College seminars and community events. We welcome experienced professionals ready to bring their vision, as well as motivated candidates with the right foundation who are eager to learn. Training will be provided for the right person.

What You Will Do

Represent the Altoona office at networking groups, community meetings, professional associations, health fairs, educational programs, and other local events.

Build and maintain trusted relationships with referral sources, senior-serving professionals, healthcare and financial professionals, nonprofits, community organizations, and other potential partners.

Identify outreach, speaking, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities that help the firm educate and serve older adults, families, caregivers, and community professionals.

Plan and execute seminars, workshops, speaking engagements, health fairs, and special events, including scheduling, presenters, invitations, registration, advertising, catering, technology, materials, guest experience, feedback, and follow-up.

Coordinate with attorneys, presenters, vendors, community partners, and internal team members to deliver professional, welcoming, and informative programs.

Create clear, accurate, and engaging content for seminar promotions, community announcements, email, social media, print materials, advertisements, and other outreach channels.

Support firm marketing campaigns through local implementation, relationship outreach, event promotion, and timely follow-up with attendees, partners, referral sources, and prospective clients.

Develop organized outreach and event plans, manage multiple deadlines and details, and communicate progress, opportunities, and needs to the appropriate team members.

Maintain accurate contact, event, sponsorship, and outreach records; track activities and feedback; and recommend practical ways to strengthen future marketing efforts.

Research community needs, local opportunities, and marketing trends relevant to professional services and elder law.

Proofread and quality-check communications and event materials for accuracy, grammar, consistency, tone, and professional presentation.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, public relations, or a related field.

Outstanding organization, strategic planning, project-management, and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple events, relationships, deadlines, and details.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar, proofreading, professional correspondence, and audience-focused messaging.

Confident public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to represent the firm professionally in one-on-one, small-group, and community settings.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including the ability to earn trust, collaborate effectively, and follow through on commitments.

Initiative, reliability, adaptability, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, care, and service.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning marketing, contact-management, event, and practice-management technology.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive firm, employee, partner, and client information with discretion.

Preferred Experience

Experience in marketing, communications, public relations, event planning, community outreach, business development, or a related field is preferred.
Experience building partnerships or referral relationships in professional services, legal services, healthcare, senior services, nonprofit organizations, education, or financial services is helpful.
Experience coordinating seminars, educational programs, conferences, networking events, or other community-facing initiatives is valued.
Familiarity with Altoona and the broader central Pennsylvania community is a plus but is not required.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is competitive and based on the selected candidate’s education, relevant experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is eligible for the firm’s employee benefits, subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements.
