Overview
A Senior Account Executive is responsible for the execution and management of clientprograms, including coordinating and implementing projects; regularly interfacing withclient representatives; and supervising and mentoring account team members.We're seeking a passionate media relations professional to join our team as aSenior Account Executive, bringing expertise in storytelling at the intersection oftechnology, innovation, and social impact. This role is ideal for someone whounderstands the evolving media landscape and has hands-on experience buildingrelationships with traditional media, podcasters, Substack authors, independentjournalists, and other alternative media platforms. You'll leverage your knowledgeof both traditional and new media channels to craft compelling narratives thatresonate with diverse audiences and drive meaningful coverage for our clients.Your strategic thinking, combined with your ability to identify emergingopportunities in the independent media space, will be critical to growing clientaccounts and expanding our agency's reach. Responsibilities
Drive effective implementation of client PR programsManage people and projects to deliver high quality results on-time and on-budgetAnticipate issuesDelegate and assign work among team membersMake recommendations for ways to meet client needsServe as a representative of the client and agency on-site at client eventsAssist account team leads with account financials: develop and managebudgets, fee estimates, out-of-pocket expenses, etc.Regularly monitor to ensure execution is staying on-budget; regularlyreport budget status to account team lead and/or agency managementProvide analysis to clients of program resultsDevelop creative ideas and tactical elements for client programsServe as a client contact and maintain relationships with key client personnelAccommodate and anticipate client needs; make recommendations to clientsRespond to requests for information from clients in a timely mannerParticipate in client calls, meetings, presentations to the client and clientbrainstorms; attend client eventsRecognize and seek opportunities to grow client accountsDevelop and maintain relationships with media contacts across traditional andnew media channels; actively cultivate relationships with podcasters,independent journalists, Substack authors, and alternative media platformsIdentify and leverage emerging media opportunities aligned with clientnarratives around technology, innovation, and social impactCraft compelling storytelling angles that resonate with independentmedia audiences and new media platformsCompile presentations for new business and business renewal proposals; participate innew business and/or business renewal pitches as determined by a supervisorParticipate in agency brainstorm sessions for client programsDevelop and foster relationships with suppliersActively participate in agency committees or departments as designated/askedDemonstrate an interest in the long-range health of the agencyRepresent the agency in professional associations
- Ability to: Understand the clients’ business and relevant industry trends and use theinformation to develop strategic PR ideasManage multiple accounts and projectsTrain and mentor junior and mid-level staffEffectively delegate work among team members
- Travel to client and event locations; meet with clients at their officelocations/headquartersDemonstrate strong writing, editing, presentation and interpersonal communicationskillsShow integrity and good judgment when working with colleagues and clientsDeal constructively with client and personnel situations
Qualifications
- B.A. in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or the like
- Three (3) to four (4) years’ experience in a public relations agency or similar position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Compensation
In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, the Company believes the target range of base compensation for this role is $70K- $85K. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
