Senior Account Manager, Performance Marketing

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Account Manager, Performance Marketing based in Canada.

You will own the strategy, performance, and client relationships for 1 to 3 major DTC and e-commerce accounts, with a focus on depth rather than volume.
You will act as a strategic partner to founders, CMOs, and senior marketing leaders managing significant advertising budgets.
The role combines cross-channel strategy, performance analysis, client leadership, and hands-on coordination across media, creative, and operations.
You will be expected to translate complex Google, Meta, and TikTok performance data into clear recommendations that influence business decisions.
Strong Google Ads fluency is essential, particularly the ability to understand Performance Max, Search, Shopping, attribution, and branded spend strategy.
You will work in a fully remote, collaborative environment with considerable autonomy and direct ownership of client outcomes.
Success means becoming a trusted strategic advisor who identifies growth opportunities, challenges assumptions, and delivers measurable value.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and own cross-channel performance marketing strategies across Google, Meta, TikTok, CTV, and email, ensuring plans are aligned with client business objectives.
  • Lead weekly client meetings with founders, CMOs, and marketing directors, providing clear analysis, strategic recommendations, and actionable next steps.
  • Translate complex attribution and performance data into business insights, connecting marketing results to revenue, CAC, payback periods, and LTV.
  • Make informed budget allocation recommendations based on conversion data, attribution analysis, and broader business context.
  • Monitor performance proactively, distinguish meaningful issues from normal fluctuations, and bring solutions when results fall short of expectations.
  • Provide client-facing Google Ads expertise, including the ability to explain campaign structures, Performance Max, Search, Shopping, Demand Gen, branded spend, feed health, and common Merchant Center or Shopify issues.
  • Evaluate GA4, Looker Studio, and cross-channel reporting critically, identifying attribution limitations, conversion lag, reporting discrepancies, and misleading signals.
  • Lead strategic conversations around Meta and TikTok performance, including topics such as ASC scaling and Spark Ads, while recognizing when specialist input is required.
  • Challenge client assumptions constructively when the data supports a different approach and navigate difficult conversations about underperformance, testing, or budget changes.
  • Coordinate media buyers, creative teams, developers, and internal operations to ensure strategic plans are executed effectively and timelines remain on track.
  • Maintain ownership across multiple priorities while ensuring client commitments, projects, launches, and follow-ups do not fall through the cracks.
  • Build long-term client trust through strategic value, analytical rigor, transparency, and consistent ownership of outcomes.
  • Requirements:

    • 5+ years of experience managing performance marketing campaigns or client accounts with meaningful strategic responsibility.
    • Strong hands-on Google Ads experience across Search, Shopping, Performance Max, and Demand Gen, with the ability to discuss campaign structure, strategy, diagnostics, and business implications.
    • Working knowledge of Meta Ads and TikTok Ads sufficient to confidently lead client conversations across the major paid media channels.
    • Strong proficiency with GA4, Looker Studio, and cross-channel attribution, including the ability to identify data quality issues and understand reporting limitations.
    • Experience managing accounts with $100K+ in monthly advertising spend or equivalent complexity in budget and performance management.
    • DTC and e-commerce experience is required; experience with premium or luxury brands is strongly preferred.
    • Agency experience is strongly preferred. Candidates from in-house environments should have experience working strategically with external partners and/or executive-level stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to turn complex data into clear business recommendations.
    • Excellent communication and consulting skills, particularly the ability to explain technical concepts in plain language and navigate challenging conversations with confidence.
    • Demonstrated ability to build trust while communicating difficult truths and maintaining a clear, data-driven point of view.
    • Comfortable operating between strategy and execution, coordinating specialists while retaining ownership of the overall client relationship.
    • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fully remote, distributed, and asynchronous environment.
    • Able to operate with autonomy, accountability, and sound judgment without relying on layers of approval.
    • Benefits:

      • Compensation: $7,000–$9,000 USD per month, based on experience.
      • Performance incentives: Bonus opportunities tied to client outcomes and demonstrated ownership.
      • Employment structure: Full-time 1099 contractor position.
      • Remote flexibility: Fully remote work with a distributed team.
      • Paid time off: PTO provided.
      • Paid holidays: Company-paid holidays included.
      • Professional development: Support for ongoing learning and professional development.
      • High-impact ownership: Direct strategic responsibility for 1 to 3 major accounts rather than a high-volume account portfolio.
      • Autonomy: Opportunity to make meaningful strategic decisions without unnecessary layers of approval.
      • Strategic exposure: Work directly with sophisticated founders, CMOs, and senior marketing leaders on substantial performance marketing budgets.
