Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support daily accounting operations, accounts payable, and prepare ad hoc reports. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and assist with month-end and year-end closing.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage accounts payable, including reviewing invoices, verifying coding and approvals, and processing timely payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements, resolve billing discrepancies, and maintain accurate vendor records.
• Prepare accounts payable aging reports and payment schedules to support cash flow planning.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, account activity, and budget-to-actual variances.
• Develop ad hoc reports and analyses to support management decisions.
• Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for audits and tax preparation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and internal controls.
• Collaborate with department leaders to obtain information and resolve accounting issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least five years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on accounts payable responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data analysis.
• Experience with accounting software; Sage Intacct experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with vendors, management, and team members.
• Experience supporting multiple companies or locations is preferred.
