Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant – Finance & Reporting with strong hands-on expertise in end-to-end accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end closing, reconciliations, budgeting, and financial analysis.
The ideal candidate must have relevant accounting and finance experience with a real estate developer in the UAE, along with a strong understanding of financial controls, IFRS, and UAE VAT requirements.
Key responsibilities
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities and ensure timely and accurate completion.
Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
Maintain and review the general ledger, journal entries, accruals, provisions, prepayments, and account reconciliations.
Manage and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
Prepare budget vs. actual reports, variance analysis, and financial performance reports for management.
Monitor and account for real estate development project costs, development expenses, revenues, and project-related financial transactions.
Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and financial planning activities.
Ensure accounting records and financial reports comply with IFRS, UAE VAT requirements, and internal financial policies.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors and prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Review financial data, identify discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of accounting and reporting issues.
Maintain effective internal financial controls and support continuous improvement of accounting and reporting processes.
Provide management with accurate, timely, and meaningful financial information to support business decisions.
Required skills & qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5+ years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience.
Hands-on experience with a real estate developer in the UAE is mandatory.
Strong experience in financial reporting, general ledger accounting, month-end closing, and account reconciliations.
Good understanding of real estate development accounting, project costs, revenue, and development expenses.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT requirements.
Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, variance analysis, and management reporting.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
Strong analytical, numerical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CA, CMA, or CPA would be an advantage.
