Senior Accountant

Position Overview:

The Malco Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant who is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial information through analysis, reconciliation, and continuous process improvement. This position supports month-end and year-end close, prepares financial reports, ensures compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, and partners closely with cross-functional teams. A strong background in manufacturing/cost accounting is essential to succeed in this role, particularly related to inventory, fixed assets, standard cost, and analysis of manufacturing variances.

Essential Duties:

· Creates journal entries, analyzes, and reconciles general ledger accounts for monthly and annual financial close.

· Prepare financial statements and ensure all entries comply with GAAP.

· Review accuracy of financial data before distribution.

· Analyze inventory activity, standard costing variances, and fixed assets related to manufacturing operations.

· Collaborate with Purchasing, Planning, Engineering, and New Product teams.

· Support continuous improvement across manufacturing cost processes.

· Sales and tax filings.

· Support Controller with the annual budget process.

· Ensure compliance with financial institution requirements.

· Manage fixed assets and inventory accounting.

· Facilitate insurance renewals and prepare materials for audits.

Education/Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

· 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience.

· Manufacturing or Cost Accounting Experience preferred.

· Knowledge of GAAP, ERP Systems (Oracle strongly preferred), and Sage Fixed Assets.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
