Senior Accountant
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other financial activities.

EDUCATION/TRAINING EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred

Experience with QuickBooks software

Experience with NetSmart software

Experience in non-profit healthcare a plus

THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION
- Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization
- Prepares accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Maintains the general ledger
- · Reconciles accounts and assists with the month end close
- · Reconciles bank account monthly, verifies deposits and researches any discrepancies
- Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, credit card, and other financial accounts
- · Posts payments by recording cash, checks and credit card transactions in accounting software, with coordination from Patient Financial Services and Marketing/Development departments
- · Prepares daily cash reconciliation and daily statistical reports
- · Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
- · Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures (GAAP)
- · Studies and recommends changes to accounting operations to enhance effectiveness
- · Prepares journal entries monthly, accumulating necessary information
