Senior Accounting Analyst - 3672806 (Buffalo, NY)

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Accounting Analyst position! This is a 3 month with potential to extend contract and will be hybrid in Buffalo, New York.

This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Support monthly general ledger closing activities including analyzing account fluctuations and preparing monthly and quarterly reports
• Conduct variance analyses, reconciliations, and tests of accounting data integrity to ensure accuracy across all general ledger accounts
• Review and validate accounting transaction documentation for completeness and accuracy while researching and resolving account variances
• Analyze data from statistical forecast models and prepare presentations that tell the story behind the numbers for leadership
• Support SEC reporting activities by reviewing previous reports and replicating processes for current quarter submissions
• Collaborate with experienced personnel to improve and implement new accounting processes that enhance departmental efficiency
• Prepare timely and accurate accounting reports specific to assigned business areas while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
• Assist with integration of acquired portfolios to the general ledger as needed
• Develop business requirements documents and functional requirements for new accounting system implementations
• Maintain internal control standards and timely address audit points from internal, external, and regulatory sources

What You'll Need to Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with significant Accounting coursework, or 4 years combined higher education and work experience
• Advanced Excel proficiency including data processing, analysis, pivot queries, and presentation of complex financial information
• Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and ability to apply in practice
• SQL knowledge to support data queries and analysis within Excel-based reporting tools
• Proven ability to analyze and interpret financial data, identify trends, and communicate findings to leadership effectively
• Experience with Adobe for document preparation and financial reporting
• Prior experience in Banking Finance Divisions or CISA environments strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, work independently, and maintain exceptional attention to detail with regulated financial data

Pay Range: $30-35+/hr
