Senior Accounting Consultant

Responsibilities

The Senior Accounting Consultant assists in various accounting functions and acts as an advisor to internal teams. This role bridges technical accounting knowledge and strategic business operations—supporting month-end closes, financial statement integrity, audits, and compliance.

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
• Process & System Improvement: Evaluate, design, and optimize accounting workflows, internal controls (SOX), and ERP/accounting software deployments (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks).
• Audit & Tax Support: Assist with internal and external audits, provide narrative documentation, and prepare workpapers.
• Advisory & Technical Accounting: Assist with researching, interpreting, and applying accounting standards.

Education / Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA is a strong plus).
• Experience: 5 to 10+ years of experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or financial consulting.

Technical Skills:
o Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
o Hands-on experience with Great Plains and accounting systems.
o Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, project leadership, and clear written/verbal communication skills.
