Summary
Provides individual and group therapy for clients recovering from substance use and behavioral addictions at a private residential treatment center, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to refine clinical programs.

Overview:
The Winslow is a private residential addiction treatment centre dedicated to delivering compassionate and personalised care to people experiencing substance use and/or behavioural addictions, including co‑occurring mental health conditions. The Senior Addiction Counsellor plays a key role in the therapeutic delivery of the programme, providing individual and group-based interventions, supporting clients to achieve treatment milestones, and contributing to the continual refinement of the clinical programme in collaboration with the Clinical Director and wider multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Therapeutic Work with Clients
● Facilitate a range of group therapies, including interpersonal process groups, focus groups, and interactive psychoeducational workshops.
● Conduct individual counselling sessions to address clients’ therapeutic goals, challenges, and recovery plans.
● Support clients in achieving key operational and therapeutic milestones, such as completing onboarding documentation, care planning, and therapeutic assignments.
● Contribute to the family support and intensive outpatient programmes, providing education and guidance to family members and supporting long-term recovery outcomes.
2. Programme Delivery and Development
● Ensure treatment delivery and client progression align with the treatment model and the client care pathway.
● Contribute to the design, review, and refinement of therapeutic content and programme materials.
● Participate in admissions and assessment processes, including pre-admission screenings, intake interviews, and collaborative treatment planning.
● Support clinical governance activities, including case reviews, audits, and quality assurance initiatives.
● Assist in the monitoring and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies to maintain best practice standards.
● Participate in business development initiatives that enhance the visibility and growth of The Winslow’s clinical services.
3. Team Leadership and Collaboration
● Provide supervision and guidance to Recovery Coaches and other team members, as delegated by the Clinical Director.
● Promote adherence to clinical, ethical, and operational policies within the team.
● Contribute to staff development by modelling best practice and supporting reflective supervision.
● Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver coordinated, integrated client care.
Requirements:
● Experience in addiction treatment or related behavioural health settings.
● Recognised qualification and regulatory body accreditation, in counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, or a related discipline.
● Demonstrated ability to facilitate therapeutic groups and conduct effective one-on-one counselling.
● Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
● Leadership and supervisory experience within a multidisciplinary team.
● Ethical, diligent, and professional in all aspects of clinical practice.
● Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
● Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with advances in addiction treatment.
