Location: United States; Hybrid
As a Senior Advanced Project Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead end-to-end development and launch of complex engineering projects that combine hardware, Firmware, Software, and mechanical Engineering for FIRE portfolio within Building Automation Strategic Business Group. In this role, you’ll apply your advanced Project Management skills to lead global cross-functional teams, manage project scope and execution, and deliver innovative solutions that improve safety, reliability, and efficiency for our customers.
You will report directly to our Engineering Program Management Director, and you’ll work out of our Atlanta, GA or Northford, CT location on a Hybrid work schedule.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead 3-4 concurrent global new product introduction programs, overseeing integrated hardware, Firmware, and/or software, and/or mechanical product development using Agile methodology.
- Develop and maintain project release roadmaps, schedules, and budgets using MS Project or smart sheets, ensuring delivery within defined scope, cost, and time targets.
- Direct multi-disciplinary cross-functional engineering and operations teams (10-15+ team members across multiple sites), ensuring alignment, accountability, and timely execution.
- Define program scope and manage change control, including negotiations with stakeholders on program contracts and scope variations.
- Drive commercialization success, ensuring products target revenue, cost, and business objectives while balancing technical feasibility.
- Identify and mitigate risks proactively, while capitalizing on opportunities to improve program outcomes.
- Work along with Integrated supply chain teams and manufacturing, ensuring readiness for production and successful design transfer into factory processes.
- Report program status to senior leadership, providing clear updates on milestones, risks, and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with Honeywell's product development process and tools and continuous improvement practices, applying structured problem-solving to strengthen program results.
- Collaborate with commercial teams and, when required, engage directly with customers to align technical execution with business needs.
