Purpose:
As a Senior Advisor, you will play a crucial role in strengthening CEEW's engagement with various government entities and partners at State, and local levels. Your primary responsibility will be to develop trusted relationships with government stakeholders and decision-makers to support that CEEW's policy research, and initiatives align with the State’s priorities.
Job Duties and Accountabilities
1) Building trusted relationships with government stakeholders
Forge and nurture strong relationships with senior government officials, departments, and key decision-makers at local levels.
Collaborate with CEEW's research teams to integrate policy recommendations into government priorities and initiatives effectively.
Represent CEEW in high-level meetings, conferences, and forums to represent evidence-based and sustainable policy solutions.
2) Stakeholder Engagement, Partnerships and Mentorship
Leverage knowledge and experience to engage with a diverse set of stakeholders who are present in the State - including other industry leaders, think tanks, academia, and civil society organisations.
Facilitate strategic partnerships and alliances to foster collaboration and support for CEEW's mission and initiatives.
Lead consultations, roundtable discussions, and knowledge-sharing events to build consensus and drive collective action on critical energy and sustainability challenges.
Contribute to CEEW's thought leadership initiatives by authoring articles, op-eds, and research papers on key policy and sustainability issues.
Provide mentorship and guidance to all members of the team and build their capability around government relations.
Shortlisting Criteria
Qualification
A postgraduate degree in public policy, international relations, political science, environmental studies, or a related field.
Work Experience
30 years of relevant experience in policy engagement, government relationship building and stakeholder management.
Deep understanding of institutional and governance mechanisms and processes.
Demonstrable expertise and experience in building relationships with collaborators and government stakeholders
Proven track record of successfully engaging with high-level government officials and stakeholders.
Experience in engaging with interdisciplinary and inter-programmatic work
Deep understanding of State policy landscape, particularly in the energy and environmental spheres.
Key skills
Must be proficient in Hindi and English
Must have strong communication skills for effective, efficient, and adaptive verbal and written communication, and active listening
Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
Experience in leading stakeholder meeting and convenings
Ability to apply technical knowledge to varied socio-cultural, ecological, and political contexts
Strong interpersonal skills, and confidence to engage with administrative, political, and business leaders
Ability to dig deeper into details, while also keeping a sense of the broader objectives and big picture
Strong analytical acumen and the ability to synthesize complex policy issues.
Proactive, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player.
