Responsibilities

About the Role

CTP, on behalf of Veloxxity, is seeking a Senior Advisor, Police Intelligence & Operational Integration to serve as Veloxxity’s senior operational advisor and mentor to the Barbados Police Service (BPS), helping the service use Digital Horizon capabilities to strengthen intelligence, improve interdiction, advance investigations, and reduce crime.

The advisor will connect police leadership, investigators, intelligence personnel, and frontline users with the Veloxxity technical team. Drawing on senior law enforcement command experience, the advisor will help BPS translate technology into effective policing practices while ensuring that operational experience directly informs the design and improvement of Digital Horizon.

What You Will Do

  • Build a Shared Operational Approach
  • Establish trusted working relationships with BPS leadership and designated operational, investigative, and intelligence units.
  • Assess current intelligence practices, investigative workflows, information gaps, and barriers to effective use of available data.
  • Work with BPS leadership to identify priority crime problems and select practical opportunities where Digital Horizon can improve results.
  • Translate those priorities into defined operational use cases, specifying the problem, users, information required, intended action, and expected outcome.
  • Help leadership sequence adoption around operational value, organizational readiness, and available resources.
  • Mentor Intelligence-Led Policing and Investigations
  • Coach commanders, supervisors, investigators, and analysts on incorporating digital intelligence into planning, investigations, interdiction, and resource allocation.
  • Help personnel connect information across cases, identify criminal networks and recurring patterns, develop investigative leads, and prioritize threats.
  • Strengthen the connection between intelligence production and operational action so that analytical findings reach the right personnel in time to support decisions.
  • Mentor supervisors on establishing clear investigative objectives, reviewing progress, testing assumptions, and assessing intelligence quality.
  • Apply experience in complex investigations, narcotics interdiction, organized crime, and interagency coordination to BPS priorities and the Barbadian operating environment.
  • Integrate Digital Horizon into Daily Police Work
  • Help BPS incorporate Digital Horizon into existing command, intelligence, investigative, and operational routines.
  • Develop practical workflows for submitting information requirements, reviewing alerts, assessing leads, assigning follow-up, and documenting outcomes.
  • Coach users through realistic scenarios and authorized operational applications, reinforcing how tools support professional judgment and investigative discipline.
  • Help personnel distinguish between an analytical lead, corroborated intelligence, and information suitable for evidentiary use.
  • Identify procedural or organizational changes needed to turn access to information into timely, accountable action.
  • Serve as the Operational Link to Veloxxity’s Technical Team
  • Act as the principal operational interface between designated BPS users and the Veloxxity team developing Digital Horizon capabilities.
  • Translate police needs into clear requirements, user scenarios, workflow descriptions, and acceptance criteria that technical personnel can implement.
  • Explain technical capabilities and limitations to BPS leadership in operational terms.
  • Gather structured feedback on usability, data quality, alert relevance, analytical outputs, and missing functionality.
  • Distinguish issues requiring software changes from those requiring training, revised procedures, improved data, or leadership decisions.
  • Recommend development priorities based on operational impact and validate proposed solutions with the personnel who will use them.
  • Guide Operational Testing and Continuous Improvement
  • Develop representative scenarios with BPS to evaluate whether delivered capabilities support actual policing requirements.
  • Participate in demonstrations, pilots, and user acceptance activities, assessing accuracy, usability, timeliness, and operational usefulness.
  • Review whether alerts and analytical products generate actionable leads and whether users can follow those leads through established processes.
  • Conduct after-action reviews following exercises and selected operational applications.
  • Convert lessons learned into prioritized technical improvements, updated workflows, and targeted coaching.
  • Strengthen Leadership Practices and Coordination
  • Advise BPS leaders on the supervisory practices, accountability, and organizational arrangements needed to sustain intelligence-led policing.
  • Help establish productive intelligence briefings, investigative reviews, and operational coordination meetings.
  • Support authorized information sharing and coordination among relevant BPS units and partner agencies.
  • Help leaders establish clear ownership for information quality, lead follow-up, operational decisions, and feedback.
  • Reinforce practices that protect sensitive information, preserve evidentiary integrity, and support lawful, proportionate use of Digital Horizon capabilities.
  • Build Sustainable BPS Capability
  • Identify and mentor BPS personnel who can become internal champions, supervisors, and trainers for Digital Horizon.
  • Develop practical job aids, operating procedures, and scenario-based coaching materials with BPS and Veloxxity personnel.
  • Use a train-the-trainer approach to build internal expertise and reduce reliance on continuing external support.
  • Assess adoption barriers and recommend focused interventions where personnel or units need additional support.
  • Help institutionalize effective practices through leadership ownership, repeatable routines, and ongoing performance review.
