Senior AI Developer

Salary: Commercial experience with C# .NET and AI?

Our client is an established New Zealand organisation investing in AI to improve how it operates and supports its customers. With several initiatives underway, they're focused on developing practical solutions that deliver real value.

Why this role?

We're looking for a Senior AI Developer with strong C# and .NET skills to help take AI applications from development through to production.

You'll be building applications, services and integrations that support internal teams and clients, working alongside architects, developers and data specialists.

This is a hands-on position where you'll have technical ownership of your work, contribute to development standards and support other developers, without direct people management responsibilities.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and productionising AI applications, backend services and APIs using C# and .NET
• Using Claude Code for application scaffolding and AI-assisted development
• Integrating LLMs and AI APIs into existing systems and customer-facing workflows
• Building MCP services, reusable components and AI orchestration solutions
• Connecting applications with enterprise data platforms, including Microsoft Fabric
• Ensuring solutions are secure, reliable, tested and maintainable
• Working with architects and DevOps teams to deliver against agreed technical designs
• Sharing knowledge and supporting other developers

What we're looking for

You'll be an experienced software developer who can turn AI concepts into reliable, production-ready applications.

• Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET, particularly backend services and APIs
• Practical experience with LLMs, AI APIs or orchestration frameworks
• Experience using Claude Code for scaffolding and code generation
• A solid understanding of deployment, monitoring and ongoing application support
• Experience with enterprise integrations and cloud platforms, ideally Azure
• Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD and application security
• The ability to work independently while following established architecture and development standards
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach

Experience with MCP, RAG, Microsoft Fabric or enterprise data platforms would be useful.
