Senior AI Engineer, AWS & Agentic AI

Salary: $150-180,000 plus super

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design and build production-ready Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions on a client engagement. You will combine hands on Python development with AWS AI services to deliver intelligent assistants, autonomous agents and workflow automation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy Agentic AI and Generative AI solutions on AWS
• Build autonomous agents, multi-agent systems and AI assistants using Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock Agents and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore
• Integrate Anthropic Claude models through Amazon Bedrock into enterprise applications and business workflows
• Develop Python services, REST APIs and microservices that connect AI capabilities with enterprise systems
• Use Claude Code to support development, testing and delivery
• Evaluate agent behaviour and model outputs, with a focus on reliability, security, performance and maintainability
• Work with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical AI solutions
• Support production deployment, troubleshooting, documentation and ongoing improvement

Required experience

• Strong hands on experience with AWS cloud services and modern AI platforms
• Practical experience with Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock Agents, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore and Anthropic Claude models on Bedrock
• Experience using Claude Code in software development
• Strong Python programming skills, including REST API development and microservices architecture
• Proven experience taking Generative AI or Agentic AI solutions into production
• Experience building autonomous agents, multi-agent systems, AI assistants or AI workflow automation platforms
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate with engineering teams and business stakeholders

Desirable experience

• Retrieval augmented generation (RAG), knowledge bases and enterprise data integration
• Agent orchestration, tool calling and integration with external APIs
• AI evaluation, observability, guardrails and human approval workflows
• CI/CD, automated testing and infrastructure as code within AWS environments
