We are seeking an experienced Senior AI Engineer to join a high-profile Federal Government AI and digital transformation program.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on AI professional to design, build, and deploy enterprise-scale AI solutions that deliver real business value. Working at the forefront of generative AI, automation, and advanced analytics, you'll help establish secure, scalable, and responsible AI capabilities across a complex enterprise environment.

About the Role
As the Senior AI Engineer, you will lead the development and implementation of AI-powered solutions using Microsoft's modern AI ecosystem. You will work across the full AI solution lifecycle, from architecture and experimentation through to deployment, optimisation, governance, and operational support.

You will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-driven innovation while ensuring solutions meet security, privacy, governance, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and deploy enterprise AI solutions using Azure AI technologies and Microsoft AI services
  • Develop AI agents, generative AI applications, and machine learning solutions to address business challenges
  • Integrate AI capabilities with enterprise applications, systems, and data platforms
  • Configure and maintain AI models, prompts, workflows, and knowledge repositories
  • Manage the end-to-end AI solution lifecycle, from design and development through to operational support and optimisation
  • Implement secure, scalable, and reliable AI services aligned with enterprise standards and governance frameworks
  • Apply responsible AI practices, security controls, privacy requirements, and governance principles
  • Monitor AI performance, quality, usage metrics, and cost efficiency to drive continuous improvement
  • Support proof-of-concepts, pilot initiatives, and innovation projects that explore emerging AI capabilities
  • Mentor team members and contribute to the growth of enterprise AI capability
Key Skills and Experience Required:
  • Demonstrated experience designing and deploying enterprise AI solutions in complex environments
  • Strong expertise in Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and modern AI solution development
  • Experience developing AI agents, Generative AI applications, and machine learning solutions
  • Proven capability integrating AI solutions with enterprise systems and data platforms
  • Hands-on experience with Python, REST APIs, RAG architectures, and AI engineering practices
  • Strong understanding of MLOps, DevOps, AI governance, security, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience working with Azure cloud services, GitHub, Azure DevOps, and modern delivery methodologies
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into practical business outcomes
  • Experience supporting AI proof-of-concepts, experimentation programs, and pilot initiatives
  • Experience enhancing and optimising Azure AI Foundry and related Microsoft AI platforms
  • Exposure to Microsoft Copilot technologies and enterprise AI adoption initiatives
  • AGSVA Baseline (or higher) security clearance
