Senior AI Engineer / Developer
Summary
Build and deploy production-grade AI solutions on Microsoft Azure, focusing on document intelligence and workflow automation using .NET/Python and Azure AI Services.
Enterprise Intelligence & Workflow Automation
About :
This role is with an award-winning Data & AI firm helping
modern enterprises accelerate their digital evolution. By combining
product-led innovation with deep technical expertise, they provide the
strategies and platforms necessary to drive rapid, measurable
outcomes. They don’t just implement technology, they fuel growth and
operational excellence through AI-native transformation.
Overview :
We are looking for a seasoned, hands-on Engineer to lead
the architectural design, development and deployment of custom,
enterprise-grade AI solutions. In this role, you won't just be
building prototypes; you will be responsible for the end-to-end
production delivery of AI-enabled applications that drive real
business value. You will bridge the gap between complex document
intelligence and seamless workflow automation, ensuring every
solution is scalable, extensible, and robust.
Core Responsibilities :
- Production-Grade Engineering: Shift AI concepts from
experimentation into high-availability production environments on
the Microsoft Azure platform.
- Architectural Stewardship: Design custom AI workflows and
service-oriented architectures that integrate deeply with
enterprise ecosystems.
- Data Extraction & Intelligence: Architect large-scale
document processing pipelines that convert unstructured data into
actionable business insights.
- Lifecycle Ownership: Take full accountability for the
development lifecycle from initial technical scoping and API
design to deployment, monitoring, and iterative refinement.
Mandatory Technical Qualifications :
To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate
"in-the-trenches" experience in the following areas:
- A proven track record of deploying business-critical
AI applications (not just POCs or lab demos).
- Experience monitoring and scaling AI workloads in
live environments.
- You can articulate the transition of a specific
project from prototype to a multi-user production state.
- Deep expertise in building bespoke workflows using Azure AI Services and Document Intelligence.
- Nuanced understanding of the Azure ecosystem,
knowing when to leverage native services and when to engineer
custom workarounds for service limitations.
- Note: This role is for builders, not buyers. Experience
limited to configuring "off-the-shelf" SaaS or
vendor-managed Copilots is out of scope.
3. Enterprise Software Foundations (.NET / Python)
- Strong backend engineering proficiency in .NET and/or Python.
- Experience with API-first, layered architectures and
integrating AI components into complex enterprise workflows.
- Note: We are seeking engineers who build and maintain
backend services; low-code/no-code specialists will not be a fit.
4. Document Intelligence at Scale
- Hands-on experience extracting structured data from
complex document repositories (e.g., SharePoint Online).
- Ability to design systems that remain accurate and
explainable as document volume and variety increase.
The Profile We Are Looking For :
- Owner’s Mindset: You take personal accountability for the
architectural integrity and long-term performance of your code.
- Collaborative Strategist: You can translate ambiguous
business requirements into technical roadmaps and communicate
effectively with Enterprise Architects and stakeholders.
- Problem Solver: You have a history of identifying where
standard AI services break down and engineering the custom logic
required to fix them.
Engagement Details :
- Duration: Initial 6-month contract with a high probability
of extension
- Commitment: Full-time (5 days per week)
- Location: Onsite - Dublin (3 Days / Week)
