Senior AI Solutions Engineer

About the role

At Izertis, we want to incorporate a senior professional into our AI Center of Excellence with solid software engineering fundamentals, solution design capability, and experience developing and industrializing AI applications.

We are looking for a hands-on profile that combines business vision, architectural judgment, and fullstack development (Currently react+Python and Azure Cloud environment). Someone who enjoys building robust, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions, from the initial problem to its deployment and evolution in production.

What you'll do

Design, develop, and evolve enterprise solutions based on generative and agentic AI, applying engineering best practices and collaborating with the specialist teams of the AI CoE.

• Design AI solutions with a business vision. Transform business needs and challenges into efficient, scalable, secure, and maintainable technical architectures, selecting the most suitable technologies for each context.
• Build and industrialize AI solutions. Technically lead the hands-on development of applications based on generative AI, RAG, intelligent agents, and advanced automations, integrating them with real business systems and processes.
• Drive excellence in software engineering. Develop robust solutions in Python, applying best practices in architecture, code quality, testing, security, and modular design, avoiding unnecessary complexity and technical debt.
• Take solutions from design to production. Participate in their entire lifecycle, from definition and development to deployment, observability, optimization, and continuous evolution, in collaboration with specialist teams.
• Boost AI-assisted development. Incorporate AI-assisted engineering tools and methodologies to accelerate software delivery, always guaranteeing technical rigor, security, and the quality of results.
• Contribute to the technological leadership of the AI CoE. Provide judgment in architectural decisions, promote reusable standards and components, share knowledge, and collaborate with teams and clients to drive innovative solutions with measurable impact.
• Translate business needs into modular, scalable, and efficient solution architectures, with justified decisions regarding security, costs, and portability.
• Develop backend services, APIs, integrations, and critical components with Python, using automated testing and maintainable code. Azure Cloud environment. And develop the front end with react.
• Build solutions with LLMs, RAG, semantic search, workflows, and agentic tools, choosing AI only when it adds value.
• Participate in the end-to-end cycle: design, CI/CD, deployment, observability, security, operation, and continuous improvement, alongside the platform and cybersecurity teams.
• Use AI-assisted development tools with critical review, technical validation, and quality controls.
• Collaborate with internal clients and multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the AI CoE's reusable standards and components.

What we're looking for

• Solid track record in enterprise software engineering (approximately 7–9 years; we especially value evidence of experience).
• Professional mastery of Python for backend, APIs, testing, integrations, and the design of maintainable applications.
• Mastery of front end, experience in react, and understanding of user requirements to design a good user experience on the front end.
• Experience designing solution architectures and personally developing relevant components.
• Real experience with REST APIs, SQL, systems integration, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Git, Docker, CI/CD, testing, application security, and observability in production environments.
• Direct participation in at least one generative AI solution deployed and operated in production.
• Practical knowledge of LLMs, RAG, embeddings, semantic search, and workflow/agent patterns.
• Ability to reason about quality, security, maintainability, cost, and business needs.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated environments or with complex clients; LangGraph, Semantic Kernel or similar; Kubernetes, IaC, and OpenTelemetry; LLM evaluation; hybrid architectures; and experience with AI-assisted engineering tools.

How you'll work

Preferably in Madrid to work under a hybrid modality in the izertis offices. Other locations in Spain can be considered.
