We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst – Content Research to join our Research team in our New York, NY location.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- With guidance from leadership, own analyses from end to end, including business question development, methodology selection, data validation, analysis, insight generation, and recommendation development
- Conduct recurring and ad hoc analyses across audience behavior, content and franchise performance, programming trends, seasonal patterns, schedule performance, acquisition, retention, engagement, and marketing effectiveness
- Translate ratings, streaming, survey, and other performance data into clear insights, business implications, and actionable recommendations
- Develop and present executive-ready reports, presentations, and performance summaries that clearly communicate what happened, why it happened, what it means, and what actions should be considered
- Support audience architecture and content strategy initiatives by identifying target audiences, audience segments, franchise opportunities, and viewing patterns for new launches, returning seasons, and marketing campaigns
- Develop audience profiles, segmentations, competitive readouts, and targeting recommendations that support programming, marketing, and broader business objectives
- Partner with Business Intelligence and other data teams to validate data sources, troubleshoot discrepancies, confirm KPI definitions, and ensure accuracy across analyses, reporting, and stakeholder deliverables
- Apply foundational forecasting and benchmarking techniques to evaluate actuals versus expectations and identify performance drivers, risks, and opportunities
- Incorporate competitive, market, and platform context into analyses to help stakeholders understand performance in the broader entertainment landscape
- Manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
- Quickly learn and adapt to new systems, tools, methodologies, and data sources
QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3-4 years of experience in analytics, insights, research, business intelligence, media research, or a related field
- Experience in streaming, digital media, entertainment, television, subscription businesses, audience research, or content performance analysis preferred
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including analysis, structured analytics templates, pivots, formulas, and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUPS
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and reasoning skills, including the ability to interpret trends, lifts, averages, and variability
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, consistency, and quality control
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor insights for both working teams and senior stakeholders
- Ability to translate data into insight stories, business implications, and forward-looking recommendations
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and ability to learn new systems, tools, and business areas quickly
- Experience with audience analytics, Nielsen measurement tools, streaming performance data, survey research, reporting/dashboarding platforms such as Power BI or Tableau, and other analytical tools preferred
- Familiarity with measurement evolution, Nielsen methodology changes, alternative measurement providers, or cross-platform measurement is a plus, but not required
The base compensation for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience.
