Senior Analytics Engineer

what you’ll do.

• Collaborate with clients to design and deliver modern analytics solutions, from business requirements to interactive dashboards and reports
• Design and develop data models, curated datasets, and semantic models that provide a trusted foundation for reporting, self-service analytics, and AI
• Facilitate design and requirements sessions with business and technical stakeholders
• Build and maintain data transformations using SQL, dbt, Python, or other modern analytics engineering tools
• Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or Looker, applying data visualization and storytelling best practices
• Perform data profiling, validation, and quality checks to ensure reliable and consistent analytics
• Support the design of modern data warehouses, lakehouses, and analytics platforms in collaboration with data engineering teams
• Work closely with data architects, data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure analytics solutions are aligned with business needs
• Produce functional and technical documentation
• Stay up to date with developments in analytics engineering, semantic modeling, modern BI platforms, AI-assisted analytics, and cloud data technologies

what you’ll bring.

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, applied mathematics, statistics, business analytics, or other relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence, or data analytics, preferably within a consulting environment
• Strong experience with requirements gathering, data modeling, semantic modeling, and dimensional modeling for analytics and reporting
• Hands-on experience with SQL and modern data transformation frameworks such as dbt; experience with Python is a plus
• Experience building reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or similar BI platforms
• Good understanding of modern data platforms, including data warehouses, lakehouses, cloud platforms, and analytics workflows
• Exposure to or interest in AI/ML integration and modern business intelligence concepts
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bridge business and technology
• Non-negotiable: strong communication skills in Dutch and English
