Overview

As Senior Analytics Engineer on the Cyber Analytics team, you design and build trusted, well-documented data products from raw security data to deliver reliable insights. You collaborate with cross-functional security and data teams to ensure accuracy, governance, and fit-for-purpose data, enabling self-serve analytics and AI-powered experiences. You’ll help shape the analytics platform, champion responsible AI, and mentor junior engineers to deliver high-quality cybersecurity data solutions. This role combines data engineering, analytics enablement, and governance at scale, with a focus on security.

Responsibilities
  • Lead data transformation pipelines across raw, trusted, and curated layers to produce scalable data products for security users
  • Design and manage logical and physical data models to support threat detection, analysis and reporting
  • Develop high-quality data pipelines, documentation, and peer reviews to raise coding standards
  • Implement automation for deployment, testing, monitoring and management of data models and quality frameworks
  • Support analytics agents and conversational analytics with governance and human oversight
  • Create trusted dashboards and visualisations for self-service analytics and storytelling
  • Collaborate with security, engineering and data teams to translate needs into data products and communicate complex concepts
  • Mentor and contribute to recruitment and development of Cyber Analytics team
  • Contribute to analytics platform architecture and responsible AI initiatives
  • Support adoption of AI-powered self-service analytics and ensure security controls
Key requirements
  • Strong passion for big data, data modelling, data quality and ETLs
  • Proficiency in Python/PySpark and SQL
  • Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt)
  • Experience building data models on cloud platforms (Databricks on Azure) and implementing automated data quality controls
  • Experience with dashboards/visualisations (Tableau) and self-service analytics
  • Version control and CI/CD experience (Git)
  • Interest or experience in analytics agents/conversational analytics or AI-powered self-service
  • Understanding of responsible AI principles, governance and security controls
  • Ability to coach junior team members
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices
