In this Analytics Engineer role, you’ll build and optimize Monzo’s data warehouse to enable fast, reliable decision-making. You’ll collaborate with product, engineering and data science to deliver downstream data models and support reporting, ML, and regulatory use cases. The role focuses on simplifying the data landscape, reducing cost, and establishing best practices across the warehouse. It offers exposure to financial data and a chance to shape data governance and cross-functional data initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Build downstream data models from backend services (primarily BigQuery) to support reporting, ML, and regulatory use cases
  • Optimize the Data Warehouse to reduce complexity and cost
  • Define and manage best practices for the Data Warehouse (payload design, data modelling, metadata, testing)
  • Set standards for data practices across Monzo and collaborate with other teams
  • Apply established standards to other business areas
  • Investigate and improve data quality within the warehouse with colleagues from other disciplines
  • Contribute to prioritisation of data governance issues
  • Own and support pipelines with occasional on-call out of hours
Key requirements
