6-month contract for a Senior Android Developer based in Auckland CBD (ASAP start) to build and enhance a key mobile app. Day to day: Kotlin and Jetpack Compose feature work, API/auth integration, automated testing, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and Google Play release management. NZ work rights required.

About the role
This is a hands-on senior Android development role within a cross-skilled engineering team working across Android, iOS and backend development.
You’ll be involved across the full mobile development lifecycle: building features, integrating APIs and authentication services, automated testing, CI/CD, release management and supporting applications in production.
The team operates as a multi-disciplinary squad, so while your core expertise will be Android, experience across iOS, backend or cloud development would be a real advantage.

You’ll bring strong commercial Android development experience, including:
- Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines and Android Studio
- Jetpack Compose and Android SDK
- Android Architecture Components
- MVVM and/or Clean Architecture
- Navigation frameworks and deep linking
- Mobile application security
- GitHub, GitHub Actions, Fastlane and Gradle
- CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance
- Google Play / app release management
- Espresso, unit, UI automation and instrumentation testing
- Accessibility testing
- REST API integration
- Firebase, push notifications and authentication integrations
- Enterprise API integrations
- Code reviews, pull requests and Agile delivery
- Production support and monitoring

- Backend Java development
- Azure cloud services
- SQL and database development
- iOS / Swift development
- API design and development
- DevOps experience
