Senior Android Software Engineer

JOB OVERVIEW
Plan A Technologies is looking for a Senior Android Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain secure, high-quality Android applications supporting our hospitality platform. The successful candidate will work closely with backend, IoT, QA and product teams to deliver guest-facing capabilities, improve platform stability and contribute to the evolution of our Android architecture.
Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of Android development experience and strong proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose to be considered for this role.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
Design, develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
Implement scalable, maintainable features within a modular Android architecture.
Integrate applications with backend services using REST APIs and MQTT messaging.
Participate in architectural design, code reviews and technical planning.
Diagnose and resolve production issues across application and integration layers.
Maintain high code quality through automated testing and peer reviews.
Collaborate with Product, QA, Backend and DevOps teams throughout the software lifecycle.
Contribute to CI/CD improvements and application performance, security and reliability.
EXPERIENCE
BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of commercial Android development experience.
Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
Strong understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM).
Experience integrating REST APIs and MQTT messaging.
Experience with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience developing applications for hospitality, IoT or connected-device environments is
highly desirable.
Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Willingness to travel to Macau on a weekly basis as required.
