Senior Application Engineer (Python/n8n)

About the role
This is a hands-on Application Engineer role for someone who enjoys developing solutions, troubleshooting defects, investigating production issues, and supporting applications throughout the DEV → SIT → UAT → PROD lifecycle. You will handle both backend development and application/production support.
Key responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Python/FastAPI backend services
Develop and troubleshoot n8n workflows, including webhooks, API calls, JavaScript nodes, data transformations, and sub-workflows
Investigate and resolve application defects involving APIs, PostgreSQL, workflows, and enterprise integrations
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) using application logs, API responses, n8n execution histories, and database queries
Implement and validate fixes in DEV and support SIT/UAT testing, defect triage, retesting, and regression testing
Support application releases, database migrations, configuration changes, deployment validation, and rollback activities
Provide production support, post-release monitoring, hypercare, and incident troubleshooting
Work closely with Development, QA, Business, Infrastructure, and Support teams
Maintain technical documentation, release notes, defect records, and operational runbooks
About you
5+ years of software engineering experience
Strong hands-on experience with Python and FastAPI
Hands-on n8n development and troubleshooting experience
Strong SQL/PostgreSQL skills
Experience with REST APIs, JSON/JSONB, SQLAlchemy, and database migrations
Experience supporting applications across DEV, SIT, UAT, and PROD
Production support, incident triage, monitoring, troubleshooting, and RCA experience
Familiarity with Docker, Microsoft Azure, ACR, Git, CI/CD, and pytest
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
