We’re looking for two Senior Application Support Analyst to join our hardworking Knowledge Management team working within our Corporate Service directorate in full-time, permanent position based in Queenstown.
What you’ll be doing / He aha te mahi
The Senior Application Support Analyst role provides senior technical support and delivery capability across the Business Systems team, with responsibility for guiding the effective delivery of work packages to the organisation and providing advanced support for Council’s ERP solution (TechnologyOne).
This role acts as a technical mentor within the Business Systems team, supporting the training and development of new and existing staff in how to scope, structure, deliver, and complete work packages effectively. The Senior Application Support Analyst will play a key role in establishing consistent delivery approaches, standards, and documentation to improve delivery quality, predictability, and team capability.
The role will involve:
- Provide senior application support for TechnologyOne and other core Council business systems, ensuring they remain stable, secure, and fit for purpose.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of complex technical issues, working with vendors and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
- Support the delivery of system enhancements, upgrades, new modules, and business improvement initiatives across the organisation.
- Communicate technical information clearly and professionally to a range of audiences, including non-technical stakeholders. Produce accurate system documentation and build effective working relationships across Council.
- Act as a technical mentor within the team, coaching colleagues and sharing knowledge to build capability and resilience.
- Partner with project teams to provide technical expertise, implementation support, testing, and delivery coordination for key initiatives.
- Develop and maintain documentation, standards, support processes, and knowledge resources that improve consistency and service quality.
- Identify opportunities to enhance applications, integrations, reporting, and ways of working, contributing to continuous improvement across the Business Systems function.
What you’ll bring to the role / Ko wai to Pukeka
You'll be an experienced applications or business systems professional who enjoys solving complex problems, supporting critical systems, and helping others succeed. Combining strong technical expertise with a customer-focused approach, you'll be confident working across operational support, continuous improvement initiatives, and project delivery while building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
This is a senior technical role. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with recent experience supporting enterprise applications, ERP systems or complex business systems environments.
To best succeed in this role, you’ll have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems or a related discipline.
- Proven experience supporting and optimising enterprise business applications, with at least 5 years' experience in application support or business systems environments.
- Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques, of at least 5 years.
- Experience with SQL, integrations, automation, workflows, reporting or related technologies would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a genuine commitment to providing outstanding customer service and support.
- An understanding of TechOne products highly advantageous.
- Permanent NZ work rights are advantageous for continuation and delivery of expected projects; our ideal candidate will hold work rights within NZ for a minimum of 2 years.
