Senior Architect

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental (SSE) is seeking a Senior Architect to support the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Southeast (NAVFAC SE), Production Design Construction Division (PDC4) at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL.
The Senior Architect will provide professional architectural support for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of facilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other supported commands. Projects may include MILCON, new construction, renovations, demolition, maintenance, space utilization, and facilities development.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Provide architectural support and consultation for the planning, design, construction, renovation, and maintenance of Federal facilities.
Support architectural programming, space planning, concept development, sustainable design, and code compliance.
Review third-party designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates and provide technical recommendations.
Coordinate with project stakeholders and multidisciplinary architectural and engineering teams.
Support a variety of shore facilities, including housing, medical, training, industrial, hangar, administrative, and command-and-control facilities.
Prepare written analyses and recommendations and present proposed designs and study results.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Minimum of five (5) years of professional, code-compliant architectural facilities design experience for new construction, including renovation design experience.
At least one (1) year of experience working on facilities projects for a Federal agency.
Comprehensive knowledge of architectural programming, space planning, concept design, sustainable design, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and code compliance.
Knowledge of DoD and Navy guide specifications, criteria and policy; International Building Code (IBC); Life Safety Code; and applicable industry standards.
Experience with Autodesk software, Microsoft Office products, and architectural design and analysis software.
Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Registered Architect (RA).
Knowledge of budgeting, planning, and project management techniques, including the ability to coordinate work and lead teams.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in an NCARB-accredited architectural program or approved equivalent experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of architectural design experience, including at least one (1) year working on facilities projects for a Federal agency.
Completion of a NAAB-accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in Architecture, supplemented by considerable hands-on facilities design experience, is desired.
