Title and Summary

Senior Associate, Account Management – Pacific Islands

Mastercard is looking for a Senior Associate, Account Management to join our New Zealand & Pacific Islands team and support the management and growth of customer relationships across the Pacific region. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in account management, payments, and market development while working across a diverse portfolio of issuer and acquirer customers. Partnering closely with Account Managers and cross-functional teams, you will help drive customer initiatives, analyse business performance, support strategic planning, and contribute to projects that expand digital payments and financial inclusion across the Pacific Islands. As you build experience and confidence, you'll have opportunities to take ownership of customer relationships and develop towards an Account Management career path.


Role

• Support the management and growth of customer relationships across Mastercard's Pacific Islands portfolio.
• Partner with Account Managers to develop account plans, customer strategies and growth opportunities.
• Prepare presentations, business reviews, performance reporting and customer-facing materials.
• Participate in customer meetings and help coordinate agenda preparation, follow up actions, initiatives and projects.
• Analyse customer performance, transaction trends and market insights to support commercial decision-making.
• Coordinate with Product, Services, Finance, Legal and Delivery teams to support customer priorities and initiatives.
• Help deliver strategic projects focused on digital payments growth, customer engagement and financial inclusion.
• Track account priorities and key initiatives to help ensure timely execution and delivery.
• Build knowledge of the payments ecosystem, customer needs and market dynamics across the Pacific Islands.
• Over time, take ownership of customer relationships through increasing customer exposure, commercial responsibility and relationship ownership.

• Experience in account management, client services, consulting, commercial operations or a related business function.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills, with experience creating clear and compelling business materials.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships and work effectively with stakeholders across different teams.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a high level of accountability.
• Curious about payments, financial services and how organisations grow customer relationships.
• Exposure to financial services, payments, consulting or customer-facing environments is advantageous.
• Interest in developing a long-term career in account management and customer relationship leadership.
