Senior Associate Data Scientist – Generative AI & Agentic AI

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Associate Data Scientist to design, develop, and deploy production-ready Generative AI applications and agentic AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Generative AI applications using RAG, context engineering, and prompt engineering.
• Develop AI agents and multi-step workflows, integrating external tools, APIs, and memory capabilities.
• Build scalable applications using Python, Databricks, PySpark, and cloud services.
• Write modular, object-oriented, production-ready Python code.
• Develop user interfaces using React and integrate backend services through APIs.
• Collaborate with engineering teams using GitHub, shared repositories, and established development practices.
• Support deployment, monitoring, governance, and continuous improvement of AI applications.
• Apply Data Science and Machine Learning techniques to solve business problems.
• Communicate technical solutions and business impact to international stakeholders.

Required Experience and Background

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Data Science.
• At least 1 year of hands-on GenAI development experience. Candidates with 6–8 months may be considered if they have deployed real production solutions.
• Proven experience developing and deploying AI applications or agents into production.
• Strong Python programming skills, including OOP, modular development, and production-quality code.
• Practical experience building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
• Experience with AI agent development and orchestration workflows, including LangChain, LangGraph, or relevant equivalent approaches.
• Experience with Azure or transferable cloud experience in AWS/GCP.
• Knowledge of Databricks, PySpark, and data processing.
• Experience collaborating with development teams through GitHub and shared codebases.
• Hands-on experience with React and API integration.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Advanced professional English proficiency (C1).
• Availability for a hybrid work arrangement in Mexico City or Guadalajara.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services or technology consulting.
• Knowledge of Agentic SQL, deep agents, and advanced AI orchestration.
• Experience with MLflow, AI monitoring, and guardrails.
• Knowledge of fine-tuning techniques.
• Experience with Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Decision Trees, Random Forest, or Gradient Boosting.
• Data Engineering experience.
• Databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer Associate or similar certification.
• Experience managing client relationships and project timelines.
