Senior Associate Scientist - Discovery Research, Regeneron Cell Medicines

Open 31d posting dated 7 days ago

At Regeneron, we use science and innovation to develop life-changing medicines for people with serious diseases. We are seeking a Senior Associate Scientist to join our discovery research team at Regeneron Cell Medicines. In this role, you will perform immunological functional assays to analyze genetically engineered human primary T cells (CAR-T or TCR T cells), supporting both early discovery programs and late-stage development programs' nonclinical studies that inform regulatory submissions.

This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on in a fast-paced laboratory environment, contributing to the preclinical research and development of next-generation cell therapies.

When & where:

  • Shift Requirements: Full-time, standard business hours, with flexibility to support a fast-paced research environment
  • Location: On-site laboratory setting
  • Flexibility & travel: Minimal to no travel; consistent on-site presence required to support ongoing experiments and project timelines

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to preclinical research and development of CAR/TCR T cell therapies in solid tumor indications
  • Characterize genetically modified primary human T cells via immunophenotyping using multi-color flow cytometry and molecular assays (PCR, library preps for NGS, RNA-Seq)
  • Develop and perform immunological functional assays to assess immune cell activation, anti-tumor cytotoxicity, proliferation, and cytokine secretion to evaluate the efficacy of CAR and TCR-based T-cell therapeutics
  • Design experiments independently and contribute to overall project direction
  • Maintain an electronic lab notebook and thoroughly document experiment results
  • Review and present research data to the functional team

The environment and physical rhythms of this role:

  • This is a hands-on, on-site laboratory role in a fast-paced research setting. The role requires the ability to perform bench work involving fine motor tasks (e.g., pipetting, cell culture manipulation), extended periods of standing, and use of standard laboratory equipment.
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to new research areas, shifting priorities, and evolving experimental techniques is required.

Let's find out if we're a fit:

Must-haves:

  • BS/MS in immunology, cell biology, or a related field, with 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience working in a biotech/pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong understanding of immunology and cancer biology
  • Extensive experience in primary human immune cell isolation techniques and mammalian cell culture, including culture of primary human T lymphocytes
  • Demonstrated experience with in-vitro immunological studies and development of functional T cell assays using techniques such as multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, and cytotoxicity assays

Preferred / nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with gene delivery into T cells or tumor cells using lentiviral vector transduction, CRISPR/Cas9 editing, and mRNA electroporation
  • Experience with standard molecular biology techniques, including PCR, qPCR, Westerns, and library preps for NGS/RNA-Seq

Thrive today. Grow tomorrow.

  • Student Loan Paydown program & Tuition Reimbursement
  • Family Care Benefits
  • Relocation Assistance
  • Inclusion, Culture and Well-Being programs (including physical & mental health)
