Senior Associate, Specialist Financial Crime Advisory - AML Financial Crime & Security Services

Summary

Senior Associate in DBS Bank's Financial Crime Advisory team, providing AML/CFT/sanctions compliance advisory, conducting due diligence reviews, preparing committee materials, delivering training, and assessing new products and business changes for regulatory compliance.

Business Function

Legal, Compliance and Secretariat (LCS) is responsible for the management of legal, regulatory and financial crime risk, and the administration of corporate secretariat responsibilities. We ensure that the conduct of business is consistent with risk appetite for legal/regulatory risk. We also maintain a program to mitigate legal/regulatory risks by appropriate identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of such risks. LCS risk appetite is driven by the letter and spirit of laws and regulations, and by the expectations of our shareholders, our regulators and the communities which we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Team Lead, Financial Crime Advisory, Head of FCSS AML, and Head of FCSS in assessing new products, initiatives, projects, and business changes to ensure compliance with AML/CFT/CPF and sanctions requirements across IBG, CBG, Custody, GFM, GTS, Operations, and other relevant business segments.

  • Provide accurate and timely advisory on AML/KYC requirements, including sanctions and trade-related regulations, to support effective implementation within Business Units and Support Units.

  • Assist the Team Lead, Financial Crime Advisory and Head of FCSS AML in providing guidance on customer profile monitoring, including the identification, assessment, and ongoing monitoring of high-risk customers.

  • Conduct adverse media screening, name screening, and other due diligence reviews required for AML/CFT/CPF and sanctions compliance purposes.

  • Prepare and present materials for AML Oversight Committee (AMLOC) meetings.

  • Prepare and present materials for Business Compliance Committee (BCC) meetings.

  • Provide advisory support in relation to Financial Institution (FI) questionnaires and participate in FI meetings when required.

  • Monitor and track the progress of periodic customer reviews to ensure completion within established timelines.

  • Prepare and submit regular management information reports, statistics, and regulatory-related data.

  • Deliver AML/CFT/CPF and sanctions awareness training to Business Units and Support Units to strengthen regulatory compliance and risk awareness.

  • Prepare and monitor KYC planning, implementation, and completion reports.

  • Ensure the Bank maintains adequate policies, standards, and controls to support the effective implementation of AML/CFT/CPF and Sanctions programs.

  • Conduct AML/CFT/CPF and sanctions risk assessments for new products, new initiatives, emerging technologies, and business changes to identify, assess, and mitigate money laundering, terrorism financing, proliferation financing, and sanctions-related risks.

  • Support the continuous enhancement of the Bank's AML/CFT/CPF and sanctions framework by providing regulatory interpretation, risk advisory, and recommendations aligned with internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
