The Senior Associate, Tangible Assets role at Portage Point represents a unique opportunity for a highly motivated professional to assume a wide range of responsibilities and make a significant impact on a growing team. The Senior Associate, Tangible Assets will report directly to the local Director of VAL and serve as an integrated member of the VAL team. This Senior Associate will support corporate valuation engagements by delivering comprehensive solutions to private equity sponsors, lenders and corporates focusing on machinery & equipment and real estate specific assets across a wide range of industries and geographies. Responsibilities

  • Work with the Portage Point team (Associates to Managing Directors) and clients to develop comprehensive valuation solutions
  • Perform valuation analysis of fixed assets, including machinery & equipment, real estate improvements, infrastructure, and specialized industrial assets across industries and geographies while using accepted and relevant approaches and theory
  • Analyze and interpret financial, operational and market data to support tangible asset valuation engagements for financial reporting, tax, financing, insurance and strategic purposes
  • Support client interviews to gather data and pertinent information
  • Develop detailed financial models, assumptions and supporting analyses in accordance with applicable accounting, regulatory and professional standards
  • Support internal trainings and best practice sharing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and / or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or related field from a top undergraduate program
  • Ideally willing to relocate to or be primarily present in either Gurgaon or Mumbai
  • Two plus years of experience at a Big Four accounting firm or top-tier investment bank / financial advisory firm serving U.S. clients, with hands-on exposure to valuation models like direct and indirect cost approach models, market-based depreciation curves, bespoke tangible asset models for specific industries and other tangible asset models
  • Willingness to support broader valuation analyses across corporate and portfolio valuation as opportunities arise
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentation and reporting skills
  • Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teams
  • High attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindset
  • Track record of success in high-pressure, client-facing environment
