Senior Automation Engineer - Network, Python and Ansible
A major bank in Sydney is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer (Networking) to join their team on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
Design deploy, operate, and enhance the software platforms and automation systems that underpin modern network engineering.
Develop and maintain automation using Ansible and Python.
Work with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) to deliver automation capabilities.
Transform complex network workflows into scalable, reliable internal tools and services that improve operational efficiency and resilience.
Collaborate closely with network engineers to understand challenges, develop innovative solutions, and continuously improve how large-scale networks are managed and automated.
This is a software-first role focused on building robust automation frameworks, platforms, and testing capabilities that support day-to-day network operations.
Key Skills / Experience:
Expert python experience- experience in code reviews, pull requests, and structured problem-solving.
Strong hands on ansible - including custom plugins/modules, and familiarity with infrastructure/config-as-code.
Networking Software Development – Experience building applications in the networking domain.
Demonstrated strong hands-on software development experience
