Our crown corporation client is seeking a Senior Automation Specialist to support infrastructure automation and orchestration solutions using technologies such as VMware vRealize Suite, Ansible Tower, Azure DevOps, Azure Bicep and/or Terraform
Initial 1-year contract in Ottawa, ON (100% Remote), with strong possibility of extension. 7.5 hours per day Monday to Friday in EST timezone. The selected candidate must hold, or be eligible to apply for a Government of Canada Secret Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Developing, implementing, and supporting infrastructure automation and orchestration solutions using technologies such as VMware vRealize Suite, Ansible Tower, Azure DevOps, Azure Bicep and/or Terraform
- Designing, developing, and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud automation using Terraform, supported by strong software development practices and source/release control using Git/GitHub and Azure Repos
- Implementing and configuring real-time and continuous health monitoring, alerting, and observability for supported infrastructure and cloud services.
- Supporting integrations with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, including automation of operational workflows where applicable.
- Other related activities and deliverables, as required
Must Have
- Significantexperience with automation and orchestration technologies such as VMWare vRealize Suite, Ansible Tower, Azure DevOps including CI/CD pipelines, Terraform and/or Azure Bicep
- Demonstrated programming and scripting experience using technologies such as Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, YAML, and related automation technologies.
- Azure networking and network-security knowledge, including VNets, subnets, UDRs, NSGs, Load Balancers, VMSS, network segmentation, Azure firewalls, and related Azure networking capabilities.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Check Point CloudGuard / VMSS
- Experience integrating automation solutions with ServiceNow, including APIs, workflows, and/or automated service-management processes.
