Senior Automation Tester (Java)
We are seeking a Senior Automation Tester in Java to join our team. Responsibilities
- Design and build automated test scripts to validate application functionality across multiple layers of the system
- Identify appropriate areas for automation coverage and prioritize test cases based on risk and business impact
- Execute automated test suites and analyze results to detect defects prior to release
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to understand feature requirements and translate them into testable scenarios
- Maintain and enhance existing automated test suites to keep pace with evolving application functionality
- Investigate test failures to determine root causes and distinguish between genuine defects and test script issues
- Contribute to defining testing strategies and approaches for new features and system enhancements
- Participate in planning discussions to estimate testing effort and timelines for upcoming work
- Support continuous integration efforts by ensuring automated tests run reliably within build pipelines
- Document testing approaches, known issues, and best practices to support knowledge sharing across the team
Requirements
- Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- A minimum of three years of hands-on, relevant experience in automation testing
- Strong proficiency in Java, applied specifically within test automation contexts
- Practical experience using Web UI test automation tools built on Java
- Hands-on background in automating tests for web services and APIs
- Working knowledge of version control systems for managing and tracking code changes
- Solid understanding of how to architect and structure test automation frameworks
- Experience applying BDD frameworks within a Java-based testing environment
- Strong communication skills paired with English fluency at a C1 level or higher, enabling clear understanding of business requirements and their translation into agentic architectures
