About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Automotive Software Developer to join their innovative, remote-first engineering team. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing sophisticated software solutions for next-generation vehicles, focusing on areas such as infotainment systems, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and vehicle connectivity. This role requires a deep understanding of embedded systems, software architecture, and the unique challenges of automotive software development. Working remotely, you'll collaborate with a talented global team, contributing to groundbreaking projects that define the future of mobility, ensuring robust, secure, and user-friendly software experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software for automotive embedded systems using languages like C/C++, Python, or Java.
  • Architect and implement software modules for infotainment, ADAS, connectivity, and other vehicle functions.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, systems engineers, and product managers to define software requirements and specifications.
  • Optimize software performance, memory usage, and power consumption for embedded environments.
  • Implement and maintain robust testing frameworks, including unit tests, integration tests, and system tests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects and issues in development and production environments.
  • Ensure software compliance with automotive standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, ISO 26262).

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in embedded software development, with a significant focus on the automotive industry.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ and experience with scripting languages like Python.
  • Deep understanding of embedded operating systems (e.g., Linux, QNX) and real-time concepts.
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, LIN) and software architectures (e.g., AUTOSAR).
  • Proven ability to design, develop, and debug complex software systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for automotive technology.
