This position is full time remote and requires the candidate hold an active secret clearance.
Accelera Solutions is looking for a Senior Azure Virtual Desktop VDI Engineer to support our customer to provide a common set of required EIT services across 187 bases to implement a consistent, high-quality experience for users across all mission environments, and enable USAF to transition focus from network operations to mission operations.
As a AVD/VDI Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, planning, implementing, and supporting desktop virtualization technology. You will build and maintain the core Azure and AVD resources and the supporting base OS imagesYou will be responsible for establishing and implementing best practice configurations that optimize the virtual infrastructure, network, storage, and overall environment.
You will work in a team environment, providing solutions to technical issues related to cloud networking, computing, and security. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving problems, performing core Azure resource, VM, and Windows OS maintenance and operations, and ensuring that clients are satisfied with their services. You will also be responsible for documenting and communicating technical information to clients, as well as collaborating with other team members to develop and implement new solutions.
You will work with your manager to understand requirements, priorities, and objectives to ensure work supports the larger capabilities and direction of the overall solution. This includes participation in Planning, Backlog refinement and prioritization, and Retrospectives. You will participate in the full life cycle of activities including deployment and validation efforts to ensure product success and will follow all established processes and standards.

Responsibilities:
• Architecture Design: Design and architect AVD/VDI solutions that align with the organization's goals and requirements. This includes hardware and software components, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Security: Implement and maintain security best practices for AVD/VDI
• Performance Optimization: Monitor AVD/VDI performance, identify potential issues, and recommend and implement solutions following standard release processes. Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost-effectiveness, performance, and scalability. Identify and address performance bottlenecks and resource utilization issues.
• Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts, templates, and runbooks to streamline provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
• Understanding of Azure suite of technologies (IaaS through SaaS).
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, and system administrators, to support application development and deployment.
• Documentation: Create and maintain documentation of architectures/designs, configurations, operational procedures, and user processes.
• Ownership: This is a Senior Position within the Program and requires multiple years of relevant experience. It is expected that you work with minimal supervision, are a self-starter and capable of defining and managing your individual tasks and have strong communication skills for partnering and communicating across internal teams to maximize efficiency and success of assigned tasks.
