Summary
Contract Senior AWS Cloud Engineer for a Federal Government client in Belconnen, Canberra (hybrid WFH), requiring NV1 clearance. Day to day: designing and building cloud-native apps, APIs, serverless and containerised workloads on AWS (Lambda, ECS, EKS) and provisioning infrastructure as code with Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK.
Salary: $145 - $165 per hour (inc super)
- Canberra, Belconnen. WFH hybrid
- 8 + 12 + 12-month contract (NV1 security clearance required)
- Java, Python, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript and modern cloud

About the role - Senior AWS Cloud Engineer
Design, develop, deploy, maintain and optimise cloud-based applications, integrations, APIs, serverless services and containerised workloads.
Duties - Senior AWS Cloud Engineer
- Designing and developing cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices and integration services
- Building event-driven, serverless and containerised solutions leveraging AWS services including Lambda, ECS, EKS, API Gateway, EventBridge, SNS, SQS and Step Functions
- Designing and provisioning AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK) in accordance with security, governance and operational requirements
Skills / Experience - Senior AWS Cloud Engineer
- Experience with Solution Designs, Cloud Architecture Diagrams, and API Specifications
- Experience with IAC Artefacts, Operational Runbooks, and Deployment Guides
- Experience with Support Documentation, and Functional & Non-Functional Specifications
